The current Austrian newly minted coins play the role of investment coins, i.e. without additional numismatic value, they serve investors to buy metal and their value follows the price of metal on the world market. The mass minted coins are the gold Ducat and the Four-Ducat, which have the year 1915, the last date on which the coin was used in international trade, as well as the 4gulden and 8gulden 1892, the 10crown 1912, the 20crown and the 100crown 1915. The coins have all the parameters of historical coins, including appearance, weight and purity of the gold used; they are identifiable mainly by the minted year.

With almost 800 years of experience, the producer Münze Österreich AG is probably the most renowned European continental mint, focusing on the precise processing of precious metals and the minting of famous coins. The Mint's credibility is enhanced by the fact that MÖ AG has been a wholly owned subsidiary of the Oesterreichischen Nationalbank since 1988. The production and the management are located at Am Heumarkt 1 in the heart of Vienna. The mint employs around 200 people and produces around 450 million coins a year.
